DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — One person was injured after a train and semi collided in Decatur Wednesday morning.
The collision happened around 10 a.m. near Woodford Street and McBride Street.
The Decatur Fire Department confirmed to WAND News that one person was injured and sent to the hospital, but no update on their condition at this time.
Earlier this morning, witnesses shared images with WAND News that showed emergency workers near the train. A stretcher and several first responders were huddled and crouched down near the ground.
Both lanes at the crossing are closed.
The area, in the center of Decatur, is near a train yard and the Macon County Highway Department.
A locomotive had Canadian National Railway markings, but it's unclear who was operating the train or where it was headed.
