Dozens of Exeter homes are set to be without power overnight because of an outage.

According to National Grid, 37 homes in the Alphington area are currently without power.

However, power is not expected to be restored until 5am on Thursday.

National Grid said: "We're working to restore power to your area. We became aware of this power cut at 6:34pm this evening and immediately began work to restore your supply. We understand how disruptive this is and sincerely apologise for the impact on your day."

The outage comes as Storm Benjamin lashes heavy rain and strong winds on the region, with disruption set to last well into Thursday. 21:47 Jamie Hawkins
