The Congress on Wednesday took a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi after he confirmed a phone call with US President Donald Trump, accusing him of concealing key details of the conversation even as Trump repeatedly made claims on India’s policy moves.
Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said while the Prime Minister stated that the US President had extended Diwali greetings, Trump claimed he had also discussed India’s oil imports from Russia and received assurances that they would be stopped.
“While Modi conceals, Trump reveals,” Ramesh said in a post on X, noting that this was the fourth time in six days that the US President had “announced India’s policy”.
