Maika Monroe Hopes To Film 'It Follows' Sequel "Next Year"

As the long-awaited sequel to It Follows (2014) takes shape, Maika Monroe has shared a hopeful update with fans of the horror film.

The actress recently teased that writer/director David Robert Mitchell has written an “exceptional” script, which she hopes to start filming “next year,” noting that the team is trying to make the follow-up work with their schedules.

“I’m hoping—rumors are of next year,” she told Decider. “I don’t need to get into a bunch of scheduling and stuff, but we’ve all been busy.”

Monroe continued, “But this script is so good. I absolutely think this movie should get made, because I think fans will be really happy. I think it’s exceptional. We’ll see. Fingers crossed!”
