WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Wichita City Council on Tuesday approved $497,500 in grant funding for local arts and culture projects for next year.
The annual grants support organizations that enrich the community through arts and cultural initiatives, according to a news release from the city.
This year, 34 applications were submitted, and 31 organizations were selected. The following organizations selected for funding are classified into three tiers: Cultural Partner, Cultural Anchor, and Cultural Institution, based on their history, community impact and the number of years they have received funding, according to the city.
In addition to the operational grants, $55,600 was set aside for activation grant applicants, the city said.
