The search for missing paddler Jon Naeole, 59, of Kaneohe, resumed at first light this morning at Kailua Beach Park for the third full day.
Naeole has been missing since Sunday morning, and a search immediately began after his overturned, one-man outrigger canoe was found floating near Flat Island.
Multiple agencies, including the Honolulu Fire Department, Ocean Safety, Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources and the U.S. Coast Guard, are among those that have been searching for Naeole in the water and by air.
HFD has coordinated a search by land, air, and ocean from sunrise to sundown.
Officials said a hat belonging to Naeole was found on Sunday and reported on Tuesday, and that its location was consistent with data gathered by USCG buoys deployed to track drift patterns.
