CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Could decades-old DNA evidence be enough to solve a cold case?

Fifty years ago this week, someone found the body of a young woman in a creek in Ottawa County.

All of these years later, her name and how she died are still a mystery.

Investigator Sara Goldenberg first covered this case two years ago in our series Unidentified .

Now she has found a new chance to finally be solved.

Duck hunters found a woman’s body on October 22, 1975.

She was lying naked on the banks of Muddy Creek near Oak Harbor.

It wasn’t far from Sandusky Bay, in a spot where teenagers used to hang out.

Her photo was circulated in a local newspaper, but no one recognized her.

Years passed, and investigators later released a sketch of Ottawa County Jane Doe.
