School bus crash on Mass. highway sends 8 to the hospital

A highway crash between a school bus and a car left eight people hospitalized in Weston on Wednesday afternoon.

State police and Weston EMS responded to the incident of a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 south at exit 39 at about 1:30 p.m., a Massachusetts State Police spokesperson said.

Eight people from the bus were taken to a local hospital to be evaluated, police said. Their conditions were described as minor, but authorities did not say whether any of the injured were children.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene, police said.

Photos taken from aerial footage by NBC Boston showed first responders around the school bus, which was parked next to a guardrail.

A black sedan was pictured close by in the breakdown lane.
