The Phantom of the Opera was a landmark silent film, with Lon Chaney putting in one of the great dramatic performances of the silent era. Sure, the romance and intrigue have been worn away a bit by time — you know, sound, color, that kind of thing — but it'll get a fresh coat of paint on Wednesday when it's accompanied by a live score from the Denver-based Quarkestra Orchestra.
