A person was shot Wednesday afternoon in Boston's Jamaica Plain neighborhood, police said.

The shooting happened on St. Rose Street, according to the Boston Police Department, which received the call at 5:51 p.m.

The victim was transported to an area hospital, but that person's condition was not known.

Authorities did not say whether any arrests had been made.
