NIAGARA COUNTY, N.Y. — People are coming from all over the country to fish at Eighteen Mile Creek in Burt — one of Western New York’s popular fall fishing spots.

Right now, it’s prime time for trout, salmon, and more. Anglers say it’s one of the few places where you can catch them right from the shoreline.

“This is a time of year where people can get them from the shoreline,” Roy Letcher, with Boat Doctors said. “The salmon and the trout are running up the stream to spawn, and everybody’s there to catch them.”

Dozens lined the water this week, including Eric Hilliyard, who made the trip from just outside Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania.
