BOISE, Idaho — A Boise attorney can no longer practice law in the state after pleading guilty to felony drug charges.

Courtney M. Peterson is accused of distributing methamphetamine to an imprisoned client, according to an Idaho State Bar notice . Instead of a disciplinary hearing, the Idaho Supreme Court has accepted her resignation.

According to the notice, prison staff searched her client’s cell on Sept. 15, 2023. They found a cell phone containing evidence that Peterson had provided drugs to the inmate during a prison visit. KTVB is working to confirm the client and prison in question.

Peterson was charged in June 2025 in Idaho’s District Court with one felony count connected to that conduct. The Idaho State Bar notice shows she agreed to plead guilty under a Rule 11 Plea Agreem
