CHICAGO (WGN) - A man has died and another was injured after a shooting Wednesday afternoon on the city's West Side.
Chicago police said the shooting happened just after 3:30 p.m. in the 4900 block of West Erie Street in the Austin neighborhood.
Two men, ages 39 and 43, were on the sidewalk when five unknown male suspects approached them. One of the suspects then fired multiple gunshots at the two men before running off northbound from the scene, according to investigators.
Police said the 39-year-old man was shot in the lower back, buttocks and hip and took himself to Loretto Hospital where he is listed in critical condition. The 43-year-old man was shot in the chest and head and taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital in critical condition before dying from his injuries.
No arrests have been mad
