New York Attorney General Letitia James on Wednesday said the state would launch a portal for residents to provide pictures and videos of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents operating in New York City and the rest of the state.
The effort comes after a high-profile ICE raid on Canal Street in New York City.
“We're launching a portal to review federal immigration enforcement in New York after yesterday’s ICE raid on Canal Street,” James wrote in a statement on the social platform X.
“New Yorkers who were present should submit videos or photos, and we will review and investigate any violations of the law,” she added.
In recent months, Democratic-led cities have seen an uptick in federal immigration enforcement.
