Phoenix Police officers are investigating a shooting in south Phoenix Sunday that left a man dead.

Officers were sent to a call of shots fired about 3:20 p.m. Oct. 19 in the area of 2300 West Buckeye Road, according to a release. When officers arrived on scene, they found an adult male, later identified as 32-year-old Eric Gutierrez, with life threatening injuries. The fire department arrived and pronounced the man deceased from at least one gunshot wound.
