BRANDON, S.D. (KELO) -- About a dozen blood drives are on the calendar each week at Community Blood Bank, a nonprofit supplying blood products to more than 40 area hospitals.
The bloodmobile has set up shop at Brandon Valley High School, one of 20 middle schools, high schools, or colleges on this month's schedule.
"The schools are inherently important because they are our future blood donors," Community Blood Bank Program Coordinator Lauri Hoffmann said.
Hoffmann says Brandon Valley is tops among schools for student participation.
"The turnout is always terrific. So every time we come here and we come here three times during the school season, the school year, we come here two days in a row," Hoffmann said.
