During News 12’s Ask the Candidate forum last week, Republican gubernatorial candidate Jack Ciattarelli said he would consolidate New Jersey’s major transportation entities under one umbrella. Ciattarelli argued that in a “sprawl state,” NJ Transit “can’t be all things to all people.”
He then added, “We need to reevaluate every single train and bus line to make sure there is adequate ridership to justify its existence. And after we perform that analysis, I think we'll have the funds necessary to dedicate to those lines that serve the greatest number of commuters during peak times.”
