Thirty veterans from Oklahoma and Texas have returned home after a trip to the nation’s capital, part of the Brookshire Grocery Company’s (BGC) 21st Heroes Flight, an effort to honor the men and women who served our country.

BGC is Reasor’s parent company. Family and friends lined the terminal exit area at Tulsa International Airport on Wednesday evening, waving American flags and holding handmade signs, ready to welcome their heroes home.

On Tuesday, the group of veterans spent the day touring 11 memorials across Washington, D.C., including the Arlington National Cemetery and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.

For many, it was their first time visiting these historic sites in person.

The chartered veterans’ flight, donated by American Airlines, landed in Tulsa around 5:10 p.m. Wednesday.
