Texas Education Commissioner Mike Morath is expected to announce a form of state takeover of Fort Worth ISD on Thursday, sources close to the decision tell NBC 5.

Sources very close to the decision tell us Morath made a decision this week, but did not share the news with Fort Worth ISD administrators.

Morath can legally shut down a school or appoint a new board of managers and superintendent to run the district.
