HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - A Kearney man serving a 40 to 50 year sentence for a horrific Halloween attack is up for parole Thursday.
Aaron Manning, now 47, was convicted of two counts of attempted first-degree murder in Buffalo County District Court after brutally attacking an Odessa woman and her teenage daughter in 2004.
According to Nebraska Court of Appeals records, it was Halloween 2004 when Manning went to Deb Haga’s house wearing a surgeon costume. The document reads that he attacked Deb and her daughter Brittany with a scalpel.
Both Deb and Brittany survived the attack but according to the court record, a doctor had testified that the cuts were within millimeters of hitting either their jugular veins or carotid arteries.
The document goes on to say it was only after Brittany was a
