ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - TSA officers are still showing up for work at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport — even though they haven’t been paid in three weeks.
With bills piling up and gas tanks running low, an Atlanta nonprofit is stepping in to help.
Nicole’s House of Hope hosted what volunteers called “TSA Day,” a pop-up food drive offering free groceries, produce and household essentials for airport employees impacted by the ongoing government shutdown.
The parking lot outside the nonprofit resembled a grocery store on delivery day, with boxes of fresh food stacked high and volunteers distributing everything from canned goods to whole hams.
