An argument between two men escalated into a shooting that left one of them dead Wednesday afternoon at the Villas at Stone Creek off Longridge Avenue, Baton Rouge police report.

A BRPD spokesperson confirmed that one person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the shooting occurred in the late afternoon when the men got into an altercation. One man shot the other, then fled the scene. That suspect was later taken into custody, police said.

No other details were immediately available.
