RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — Thousands in Rutherford County are still trying to determine if they will receive a tax refund or a tax bill after the Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury told county commissioners that many property assessments were "riddled with errors."

Because of the report from the Tennessee Comptroller's Office, Smyrna council members held a special meeting Wednesday afternoon to discuss what impacts this could mean for the town.

“Obviously, I think the biggest thing for us — for me — that I’m concerned about, even above the fiscal impacts, is the public trust,” Town Manager of Smyrna, David Santucci told council members at the meeting.
