NEW ORLEANS —
Winn-Dixie announced Wednesday that its stores in Louisiana will either close or change ownership by the end of the year.
This comes as the company shifts its focus to its home state of Florida and a few locations in Southern Georgia. Advertisement
The company said in an issued statement that it would help those stores transitioning across the state.
The full statement read:
"We are finalizing multiple store divestitures, including our locations in Louisiana, as part of our strategic focus on Florida and select Georgia markets. We can also confirm that we are divesting the Winn-Dixie stores located at 8601 Siegen Lane and 13002 Coursey Blvd. in Baton Rouge to Super 1 Foods.
