The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has determined that the death of a man in a fire at a homeless encampment in Milford in August was a homicide.
Police identified the victim as 57-year-old Joseph Kane

Police and other agencies responded to a fire at the encampment, which is set back between Lowe's at 311 Old Gate Lane and Metro North train tracks, on Friday, Aug. 15 and they found Kane, who died at the scene, according to police.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner said Kane died of smoke inhalation and thermal injuries.
No additional information has been released.
