Center High School was forced to forfeit its varsity football game against Lincoln High School last Friday after its team bus failed to arrive. The Center Joint Unified School District athletic director said the transportation department “forgot” to send the bus. The district added the assigned vehicle for the varsity team never showed despite being scheduled. The forfeit disrupted Lincoln High’s Senior Night and cost the school’s booster club revenue from its snack bar. Coaches and administrators from both schools expressed frustration and sympathy for students, parents, and fans. Center High says it will play its remaining two games this season.
