Prime Minister Anthony Albanese revealed what he gifted US President Donald Trump during his crucial visit to the White House.

Albanese travelled to Washington for his first face-to-face meeting with Trump since he began his second term as president on January 20.

It is customary for leaders to exchange gifts during state visits.

During a press conference yesterday, Albanese said he gifted Trump a submarine model — a not-so-subtle nod to the AUKUS pact, which Trump confirmed will go "full steam ahead" after months of speculation that the US may not honour the agreement. 

He also gave First Lady Melania Trump jewellery and their newest granddaughter Uggs.
