OMAHA, Neb. —

A man accused in a deadly stabbing at an Omaha laundromat appeared in court for a preliminary hearing Wednesday.

Deshawn Griffin, 26, is accused of stabbing and killing 35-year-old Johnathan Wallace in the parking lot of the Anytime Laundry near 46th and Cuming Streets.

Prosecutors say Griffin stabbed Wallace twice in the heart.

He's being charged with second-degree murder and use of a weapon to commit a felony.

His wife, 24-year-old Kayla Griffin, is charged with accessory to a felony.

In court Wednesday, Deshawn Griffin's defense asked the court to reduce his second-degree murder charge to a manslaughter charge.
