The New York Knicks will open what is hoped to be their most successful season in more than a quarter-century as they host the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday. This is the most highly anticipated Knicks campaign of the 21st century, as expectations are at their highest since the days of Patrick Ewing.

Both New York and Cleveland are coming off strong regular seasons that ended in playoff frustration. Each team was eliminated by the Indiana Pacers. The Knicks, however, built more hope for the long-elusive championship by reaching the Eastern Conference Finals.
