SERGEANT BLUFF, IA (KTIV) - The Sergeant Bluff-Luton Community School District is asking the public to vote for a $37 million bond in November to build a new primary school building.
If you own a $200,000 home, you will pay an additional $13.40 a month in property taxes.
Superintendent Chad Janzen says the money will go to “retiring” the current K-2 primary school building.
Janzen says the 1959 building has security, HVAC, plumbing and electrical issues.
This bond would fund construction of a new primary school building, attached to the current 3-5 elementary school building, on the site of the district’s current baseball field.
The baseball field would be relocated to the east side of Sergeant Bluff.
This will be the seventh time this bond will be on the ballot. Last year the bond w
