RIPLEY, N.Y. (WIVB) -- Last week, Ripley officials declared a State of Emergency after the town’s water reservoir was declared dangerously low. Now, thanks to some much needed rain and the efforts of the community, town officials say things are looking up.

Ripley Town Supervisor Lauree Pless says while the town is still in a State of Emergency, the situation is improving, saying in part, “We are pleased to announce that the much-needed rainfall has arrived in our area, significantly improving our water supply outlook. We are happy to report that things are looking very positive.”

Bob Bentley, the manager of local restaurant Meeder’s, tells us he is happy to hear things are moving in the right direction.

“It takes a lot of pressure off, it makes everybody relax a little bit,” said Bentle
