Louisiana State Police have issued an arrest warrant for the suspect in shooting that left an Assumption Parish Sheriff with a graze wound and sent two others — including the suspect — to the hospital.

Blanchard allegedly made racially charged remarks before shooting the victim.

When Sheriff Leland Falcon and a deputy arrived, officials say Blanchard fired at them, and the deputy fired back.

Blanchard was taken to the hospital.

Once he's released, he'll face the following charges:

Attempted 1st degree murder (2 counts)

Aggravated assault with a firearm (3 counts)

Aggravated assault on a police officer

Hate crimes

Aggravated burglary
