LOGAN – One of the goals of the Play Readings series by the Theatre Arts Department at Utah State University is to connect student actors with lesser-known works written in the past decade by contemporary playwrights.
That objective is certain to be accomplished when USU debuts An Evening of Short Plays at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 24.
The four offerings that evening will be brief plays directed and performed as readings by the university’s current Theatre Arts students. Those plays will be read live without additional elements like sets or lighting, focusing the audience’s attention strictly on the story.
Each play is presented as a script-in-hand reading — lightly rehearsed, immediate and focused on the language, ideas, and performances rather than full production elements, accordin
