Thanks largely to brilliant games by Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe, the Sixers pulled off a thrilling 117-116 win over the Celtics in Boston.

Payton Pritchard missed two game-winning attempts on the night’s final possession, including a short baseline jumper just before the final buzzer.

Maxey posted 40 points and six assists.

Edgecombe had an incredible, record-setting NBA debut, recording 34 points, seven rebounds and three assists.
