LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Rosie and Richard Harless are both retired from their positions with the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
They say even in retirement, the government shutdown is bringing up old feelings of being powerless, misunderstood and undervalued.
“No one wants to be in a position of wondering, am I going to get paid, when am I going to get paid and then also am I going to get furloughed, am I going to lose my job?” Rosie said.
Richard retired as an Associate Warden of Operations in Butner, North Carolina. Rosie retired as a Camp Administrator and Executive Assistant to the Warden from Lexington’s Federal Medical Center.
