A $9.7 million upgrade to Balga Senior High School includes a new performing arts centre and STEM lab.

The new contemporary performing arts centre, which includes a foyer, theatre space, props store, drama store, green room, collegiate area and servery, was officially opened last week after it was completed in time for the start of Term 4.

The purpose-built facility enables the school to host performances while also providing a modern space for teaching and learning.

The school also received funding for a new STEM laboratory, which includes a 3D printer, laser printer room, resource store, project store, and equipment room.

Construction on the projects, which were designed by The Architecture Group (TAG Architects) and built by Devlyn Construction, first began in May 2024.
