ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - On Wednesday, downtown Atlanta neighbors got a new look at what’s to come for a major upgrade in the city called “The Stitch.”

The upcoming project will connect Midtown and Downtown Atlanta with a park sitting right on top of the I-75/I-85 connector, all in an effort to revitalize the area and reconnect neighborhoods divided by the interstate.

Howard Deutsch and his wife have lived in Midtown since the 80s and have seen their fair share of changes in the heart of the city.

“We used to years ago walk down Peachtree all the way down and walk back, but we don’t do that anymore. We don’t have too much that attracts us to downtown, so I think this will be a major change for us,” Deutsch said during a tour of the area Wednesday morning.
