Amidst heightened tariffs on Indian goods, Trump also aims to persuade China to follow suit regarding Russian oil imports. Both India and China are major consumers of Russian crude oil.

The president will address the Russia-Ukraine conflict with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the APEC summit, assessing how best to end the ongoing war. Furthermore, Trump asserts that tariffs have been instrumental in boosting the US economy and maintaining global peace.
