INDIANAPOLIS — Members of the Indianapolis Local Education Alliance have just about two months left to finalize recommendations on how schools across the city can collaborate more efficiently.

The nine-member group, created by state lawmakers earlier this year and chaired by Mayor Joe Hogsett, is tasked with rethinking how public education is managed across Indianapolis — from Indianapolis Public Schools to innovation and charter schools.

During its fifth meeting Wednesday night, the alliance heard from education leaders from across the country, including Alyssa Whitehead-Bust, co-founder of the Colorado-based education firm Attuned, and Paul Kihn, deputy mayor for education in Washington D.C.
