BOUNDARY COUNTY, Idaho — Assault charges are on the table in a case of an alleged interaction with a former inmate inside the Boundary County Jail and a former deputy.

It's important to note that nobody has been charged in this case yet.

The State of Idaho is seeking charges against former Boundary County Deputy Bryant Brown relating to the alleged assault of an inmate who was arrested for an outstanding misdemeanor bench warrant back in 2023.

He's been out on parole for the past year.

Court records show a Bonners Ferry man was arrested by police for an outstanding bench warrant for unfinished community service hours for a DUI charge he got while traveling in Coeur d'Alene in 2022.

He says he turned himself in to the Bonners Ferry Police.
