The Detroit Pistons shook off some of the rust of the offseason to make a dramatic run at a comeback on the opening night of their 2025-26 season.

Despite trailing by 23 at one point, the Pistons managed to level the score with the Chicago Bulls late in the fourth quarter. However, the breakthrough shot never came and the Pistons dropped their opener 115-111 at the United Center in Chicago on Wednesday.

The first starting lineup of the season included Cade Cunningham, Duncan Robinson, Ausar Thompson, Tobias Harris and Jalen Duren. Guard Marcus Sasser was unavailable due to right hip impingement.

The feature duo of Cunningham and Duren started showing out early with the All-NBA guard finding his center on a pair of early alley-oops.
