Three weeks after a reported home invasion in Evatt, police officers arrested one of the alleged burglars after spotting him at the courthouse.
"Following multiple attempts to locate the man, ACT Policing officers attended the ACT court precinct yesterday, October 22, 2025, where the man was located and placed under arrest," a police spokeswoman said.
It's alleged the 28-year-old man and an unknown person broke into the North Canberra home about 5am on October 2 while the resident was home.
The man allegedly smashed a window with a hammer and returned to a white Mazda CX-3.
Investigators are still looking for the other person, who is accused of entering through the broken window and threatening the occupant with a hammer before escaping with a stolen safe.
