Search experts have suggested that the scaling back of the hunt for fugitive Dezi Freeman indicates police think he was able to escape from Porepunkah, where he allegedly killed two officers. The Chief Commissioner has said specialist teams are still in the region, but today the presence was a far cry from what it was at its peak.
