Police are investigating the death of a man on the Gold Coast this afternoon.

Members of the public called authorities just after 1pm in regards to the behaviour of a man in his 20s, who police say later fled the area. 

Shortly after, police arrived at an address on Dutton Street in Coolangatta, where a man was found dead.

Police located the man in his 20s in Upper Coomera, where he was taken into custody shortly after 2pm.

Two separate crime scenes have been established, in Coolangatta and in Upper Coomera.

It is believed that the two men were known to each other and there is no threat to the public.
