HUNTINGTON — The Marshall University men’s basketball team showed off elite shooting potential in an exhibition matchup with Alice Lloyd College on Wednesday, winning 123-63.

The Thundering Herd shot 20 for 43 from 3-point range and had three players make three or more – Jalen Speer (three), Caleb Hollenbeck (four) and Noah Otshudi (five).

“When guys are open, we tell them to shoot the ball,” Marshall coach Corny Jackson said.

Hollenbeck and Otshudi are among newcomers on the Herd’s roster.

“This team’s really, I think, everyone can shoot,” Otshudi said. “Even [center] Matt [Van Komen] is shooting the ball better.
