It’s tough to trap Missouri football linebacker Josiah Trotter. Auburn running back Jeremiah Cobb can tell you all about that.
On the final play of MU’s 23-17, double-overtime win over Auburn on Saturday night in Jordan-Hare Stadium, Cobb picked up the block on Trotter on fourth-and-8. Well, Cobb tried to pick it up.
Trotter, with one person between him and the QB, made a call: “Eff it, I’m just going to do it.”
Do it, Trotter did — jumping over the tailback and helping pressure quarterback Jackson Arnold into a last-gasp dump off to an offensive lineman, who made it a few yards before hitting the deck to end the game. There’s not much stopping Trotter.
