Three prison inmates have been arrested for allegedly threatening to kill former French president Nicolas Sarkozy.

The men – who have not been named – are fellow prisoners of the 70-year-old in La Santé, the Paris jail.

Police swooped on their cells following the appearance of video on social media in which the former head of state is subjected to the sinister threats.
