LIBERTY A man holding a knife to his own throat brought a large law enforcement response in Liberty early Thursday.
Township Police called for help from several Ohio State Highway Patrol Troopers from around the Valley shortly after 1:30 a.m. after the suspect was reportedly holding a knife at Belmont Avenue and Laurel Street.
With guns drawn, officers negotiated with the man for more than an hour, until he eventually dropped the knife and was arrested.
Dispatchers say the incident began as a traffic stop in Weathersfield Township, eventually ending up in Liberty.
The suspect was taken to a hospital. 21 News is working to find out if he was injured or was taken for a mental evaluation.
