A new, amended funding agreement in support of Jackson Hospital & Clinic has been approved, city officials announced on Oct. 21.

After over a year of financial strife, Jackson Hospital has been facing the possibility of closing since late September, when the hospital's debtor and possession lender publicly noted that Jackson Hospital is "out of money."

Since late September , Jackson Hospital has seen an extension of the Debtor in Possession loan that a federal bankruptcy judge granted from $22 million to $35 million and a resolution from Montgomery's City Council to help the hospital financially, which Montgomery Mayor Steven Reed vetoed.
