A mother missing for seven days has tragically been found dead, just hours after a fresh appeal for information from police concerned for her welfare.

WA Police confirmed the devastating news on Thursday evening, saying the death of Michelle Leahy, 50, “is being treated as non-suspicious”.

The mum-of-three was last seen on Bruce St near Stirling Hwy in Nedlands about 3.15pm on October 16, shortly after leaving a medical appointment she had travelled from Kalgoorlie to Perth for.

“There are concerns for her health,” superintendent Manus Walsh said during a public appeal for information earlier on Thursday.

“Her travel to Perth initially was to seek some medical assistance and we’re following up on (that) and also other areas.”
